The NetFlow Visualizer (NFVis) is a lightweight application offering
alternative visualization of network traffic, which is focused on details
exploration and supplies other tools focused on traffic statistics. NFV is is so
called proof-of-concept tool and provides new type of visualization of the netflow data. Network devices
are represented as nodes in graph and edges represent data transfers between
these devices.
NFVis is suitable for:
- Getting overview of overall situation – NFVis displays all active devices
in the network and reflects their current state (amount of transferred data,
number of connections, etc.). It enables to locate causes for network overload
or sources of the overload.
- Network device behavior exploration – evaluation of network device
behavior based on its connections. NFVis offers fast overview of communication
peers and used network services.
- Detailed evaluation of connections – NFVis can acquire individual flows
from the netflow collectors upon request.
NFVis is available in two different versions:
- NetFlow Visualizer Free (NFVis Free) – distributed for
free as a plug-in
for FlowMon series solutions. If you want to get it, contact our application
partner INVEA-TECH.
- NetFlow Visualizer Plus (NFVis Plus) – commercial
version of NFVis provided as a plug-in for INVEA-TECH FlowMon Probe.
NFVis Plus does offer the following advantages:
- Extended filters and communication protocols support.
- Network diagnostic tools integration (ping, trace route, port scan).
- Communication with WHOIS service.
- Data transfers graph overview.
- Detail device communication statistics.
